A Gathering of Communities: Healing Through Justice!

Registration is closed for this event

Communities of color are disproportionately impacted by poverty, violence, and trauma. Recently, there has been increased interest among policy makers to address racial disparities through the acknowledgement of structural racism. This has created a significant opportunity to further inform the city’s vision of how we can move towards a city that is trauma-informed, through the direct involvement and leadership of communities of color that historically have been economically disinvested.

On October 5th, Communities United is partnering with organizations from across the City to convene 500 individuals throughout Chicago’s diverse communities to educate, share and understand the role of community-led healing justice and transformation in creating a trauma-informed city. This gathering will include testimonies from community residents, policy experts, small-group discussions and more.
